2015- Another year older, not wiser

I’m not a stickler for New Year resolutions. For the past four years, my resolution was to wash my car. Make ‘em easy, that way you can’t break ‘em. I do find that January is a great time to reflect on the past year – what I did well, what I didn’t do so well, what lessons I’m going to take with me.

Lesson one: I’m going to read more. I found this great blog entry on reading habits I’m totally going to adopt http://austinkleon.com/2014/10/17/33-thoughts-on-reading/

Except for number 10 – because I mostly read on a kindle and I can’t afford to throw it across the room every time I get annoyed at a book.

Secondly, I’m going to finish up some of my projects before starting new ones. Yes, I’m referring to my mangled Magna Carta, my PhD thesis. And to encourage me to finish PhD, it’d be great if anyone feeling the urge to ask me ‘When are you having a baby?’ change the question to ‘Hey, when are you having a PhD?’

Thirdly, come up with some pithy responses for anyone who asks me ‘When are you are having a baby?’

It’s going to be a great year.
